Places to visit

DairyLand Farm World

Whilst recently on holiday in Cornwall we decided to take the children out for the day to DairyLand Farm World. We had not heard of it before and did not know what to expect but we were very pleasantly surprised. This place is fantastic, very well thought out and totally geared up to toddlers and younger children. There are a lot of farm animals to see both inside in barns and outside. Our son loves stroking animals so having a designated area and time where we could go and stroke guinea pigs, rabbits and even a chinchilla was one of the

ZSL Whipsnade Zoo

ZSL Whipsnade Zoo is a beautiful animal kingdom where we visit quite often.  Our last visit was in April for our daughter’s birthday.  There is so much to do at Whipsnade Zoo we find it hard to fit it all in, in one day. It is situated about 20 minutes off the M1 at Junction 21.  You have two options for car parking, you can either park outside the zoo for free or pay £20.00 to take the car into the zoo and to be able to drive around.  I would only advise taking the car in if you are

Kids ‘n’ Action

Kids ‘n’ Action is every child’s dream of an indoor play centre.  A large café is surrounded by a huge amount of play equipment which the children could play in for hours.  My little boy loves the Little Tikes cars area where there is a 4×4 car, police cars amongst other Little Tikes Cars.  Within this area there is a car wash which they like driving through. There is a huge climbing frame which has ropes and a great mirrored area.  Both of our children love going down the huge big slides in the middle of the play area

Doodle’s Den

In the heart of Windsor there is this unique child friendly café. Go to Doodle’s Den and relax whilst your little ones play. Yes that’s right, you don’t need to try and get them to sit still whilst you enjoy a coffee and a slice of delicious cake. There is a large selection of toys to keep them amused for a while. A Fisher-Price Go Baby Go! Bounce & Spin Zebra, a table with a garage and cars on it and a great array of books. There is such a personal touch here, for example there is a notice up to all the

Odds Farm Park

Odds Farm Park is a local farm near where we live. We often visit Odds Farm as the children really enjoy going and it is only about 20 minutes away. There is a large indoor barn where in the winter all the animals are kept so it is great to still be able to see them in the colder months. Within this barn are chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs too. They let the children stroke the animals at various times throughout the day. Outside there is plenty to keep the little ones entertained with lots of climbing frames, Go Karts,

Hobbledown Farm

A magical day out not far from Junction 9 on the M25. Being half term we decided to visit Hobbledown Farm for the day. We arrived at 9.30 and before we knew it, it was nearly closing time. Hobbledown Farm isn’t just a farm, it is a fantastic place to keep the little ones amused for a long time and adults too. We started by looking at the chickens, guinea pigs and rabbits. It has been very well thought out as within the stable walls there are low down viewing windows for the children so we didn’t have to constantly

Bocketts Farm Park

A real fun day out at a working farm in the heart of beautiful Surrey. Once you have paid to go in there are some ride on tractors which were so attractive to our son that I think he would have stayed and played on them all day. Where the smaller animals are kept is called the animal village and is very unique, well thought out and the children loved it. The children enjoyed being able to stroke the small animals and likewise with the big horses in the stables outside. We really enjoyed a stroll outside taking in the

Legoland Windsor

Legoland Windsor is aimed at children aged between 2-12. The park is kept very clean at all times even when it is busy I have never seen any rubbish. Over the years Legoland Windsor has become very theme park orientated which does defer away from Lego, although most of the rides have a Lego theme. Miniland used to be the main attraction and our little ones love looking around it, the moving trains, boats and their favourite feature, the soldiers or should I say Bop Bops marching outside Buckingham Palace. There are some fantastic rides for our little ones, Fairy
